The Waikerie Institute, Soldiers Memorial Hall was built in 1919 as a memorial to soldiers who had fought during WW1. The hall was completed in 1928. The hall features a large stage and wooden flooring and houses the town honor rolls for men who served in conflicts up to 1973. The hall is still used by the community for events including the Waikerie Santa’s Cave each December. Two shops built onto the side became the town Library and Savings Bank. The store now houses the Cobweb Art and Crafts.
