Itinerary highlights

Gantheaume Point

The first glimpse of Gantheaume Point stops everyone in their tracks.
Vibrant red pindan cliffs drop dramatically into the turquoise Indian Ocean, creating a powerful contrast of colour and texture. This is Broome at its most captivating – bold, raw, and breathtaking.

And then there’s more – much more.
Hidden in the reef at low tide lies one of the most extraordinary sights on Earth: the most diverse collection of dinosaur footprints ever discovered. Over 130 million years old, these fossils offer a rare and humbling connection to life long before us.

Birdlife soars overhead, sea breezes carry stories, and the layered Kimberley rock formations tell of time and tide. You’ll also visit Anastasia’s Pool, hand-carved for love, and learn how nature and history intertwine in the most unexpected places.

Gantheaume Point is more than a photo stop – it’s a place that stays with you.

An easy 200m levelish walk suitable for all travellers.

Broome Wharf and Entrance Point

Where tides roar, locals gather, and history runs deep.

At Broome Wharf and Entrance Point, you’re standing on the edge of Roebuck Bay – a bay eight times the size of Sydney Harbour, alive with movement, colour and character. This is where the world’s fourth-highest tides shift the shoreline dramatically, revealing reef, rock and ancient secrets below.

From the new 100-metre wharf, take in sweeping ocean views, working boats, and maybe even a turtle popping up for air. It’s also a favourite local spot – home to the Broome Fishing Club, where stories are swapped and sunsets are best served with a cold drink.

Just below, the reef reveals something extraordinary: fossilised dinosaur footprints, over 130 million years old hiding in plain sight, they directly link to a prehistoric world.

It’s wild, powerful and real.
A place where nature, community and deep-time history collide – this is Broome, from the locals’ point of view.

Town Beach, Broome

Where history meets tide, and locals meet the day.

There’s nowhere in Broome quite like Town Beach – where locals reverse their trailers, tides stretch across glowing mudflats, and deep history whispers from every corner.

It’s where, in the late 1800s, Asian pearl divers and workers first stepped onto Australian soil, arriving via Broome’s original 1km jetty. Though the jetty no longer stands in full, its legacy lives on – a powerful reminder of the cultural foundations that shaped Broome.

Today, the newly upgraded precinct offers shaded lawns, picnic areas and stunning views over Roebuck Bay – a bay alive with colour, tides, and stories. So much to discover.

This is also the site of Broome’s WWII tragedy, where Japanese air raids destroyed Catalina flying boats anchored in the bay. A moving memorial now marks the spot.

Come sunset, the sky explodes with colour. And when the moon is right, see the Staircase to the Moon shimmer across the tidal flats.

Town Beach is Broome – local, layered and unforgettable.

Chinatown

A rich past, a vibrant present – and your key to exploring it all.

Broome’s real Chinatown is a living link to the town’s multicultural roots. Born in the 1880s during the height of the pearling era, it was shaped by Chinese, Japanese and Malay communities whose legacy still colours the streets today.

Now beautifully revitalised with a $20 million upgrade, Chinatown blends heritage with modern vibrancy. Think red lanterns swaying in the breeze, murals that tell local stories, and historic laneways like Johnny Chi Lane, where old-world charm meets Broome’s creative pulse.

It’s where East meets West in true Broome style – with pearl showrooms, teahouses, boutique shops and hidden eateries offering everything from dumplings to cold brews.

As part of your tour, we’ll gift you our exclusive ‘voucher mud map’ – with 12 hand-picked offers from our favourite local spots.

This isn’t just sightseeing – it’s your chance to taste, explore and connect with the real Broome.
Let us guide you through Chinatown – the heart of the story.

Sun Pictures, the World's Oldest Outdoor Garden Cinema

Where the latest movie night meets old-world magic, talk about an immersive adventure!

Tucked in the heart of Chinatown, Sun Pictures is more than just a cinema – it’s a Broome treasure. And yes, we’ll make sure you find it.

As part of our tour, we’ll show you the history-rich streets of Chinatown, right to the doors of the world’s oldest outdoor picture gardens. Built in 1916 and still screening two movies a night, it’s where vintage charm meets starry Kimberley skies.

Imagine watching the latest blockbuster from a timber deck chair, under the stars, with the tropical breeze and occasional plane flying overhead – it’s pure Broome.

We’ll show you how to book, where to sit, and even the best nearby spots for a pre-show bite or gelato.

It’s not just a cinema – it’s an experience.
And we’re here to make sure you don’t miss it or at least hear the tales about the tidal movements and the unique segregated history.

Japanese Cemetery

A resting place for the many cultures that built Broome.

Broome’s story is one of migration, resilience and diversity – and nowhere is that more moving than in its cemeteries.

We take you past the Japanese Cemetery, the largest of its kind in Australia. Here, over 900 pearl divers are laid to rest – many of whom tragically lost their lives at sea in search of the precious shell that built Broome’s fortune. The curved headstones and Japanese inscriptions tell of the town’s deep ties to Japan.

But that’s not all.

You’ll also pass the Chinese Cemetery, Muslim Cemetery, and Malay Cemetery – each one a quiet tribute to the communities who came here in the late 1800s and early 1900s, risking everything to work in the pearling industry.

These sacred spaces are powerful reminders that Broome was, and still is, shaped by many cultures, many faiths, and many stories.

This is the Broome you feel – not just the one you see.

Cable Beach

World-famous for a reason – and now better than ever.

Stretching 22km along the turquoise Indian Ocean, Cable Beach is Broome’s crown jewel – and it’s currently undergoing a stunning $45 million revitalisation, with Stage 1 now complete. New amenities, walkways and viewing platforms are transforming this iconic stretch while keeping its laid-back beauty intact.

With soft white sand beneath your feet and rich red dunes behind you, it’s a feast for the senses. And when the sun begins to dip? It’s next-level.

We’ll show you the best secret spots to take in the legendary Cable Beach sunset – away from the crowds, camera ready.

This is also where Lord Alistair McAlpine sparked Broome’s tourism vision in the ‘80s – and that legacy still glows here each evening.

Swim, wander, relax… and don’t worry about missing a thing.

We’re right there with you – helping you soak it all in.

Simpson Beach -Broome's Red Beach

The secret spot your Instagram’s been waiting for.

Tucked away and mostly unknown – except to travel bloggers and a few in-the-know locals – Simpson Beach is a new and exclusive addition to our tour.

This is the kind of place you stumble across in a glossy travel mag and think, “Where is that?”
Now, we’re taking you there to see it for yourself.

With fiery red pindan sands, glassy turquoise waters, and the gentle rhythm of Broome’s massive tides, Simpson Beach is pure magic. It’s serene, cinematic and untouched – a place that feels worlds away, just minutes from town.

Perfect for photographers, wanderers and dreamers, this beach is as peaceful as it is powerful.
No crowds, no signs – just your own moment in Broome’s raw beauty.

Bring your camera. But don’t forget to just stop and take it in.

Simpson Beach – Broome’s most beautiful secret.
