The Herald Sun Aria, established in 1924, is Australia’s oldest and most prestigious competition for emerging classical singers.

Recognised nationally as a leading platform for rising opera talent, the Aria awards many prizes to support the development of outstanding performers. The competition is open to singers aged 19 to 36 years, attracting some of the country’s finest emerging voices.

Experience the excitement of the Heats on 28 June followed by the semi-finals on 29 June, where audiences can witness exceptional vocal talent up close.

With significant prizes on offer, finalists deliver performances of the highest calibre, many going on to successful careers on the world stage.
