Presented by the Illawarra Folk Club and the Wollongong Golf Club, under the sponsorship of the Great Southern Nights

All seamlessly linked with personal recollections of growing up in migrant families, coming to terms with their indigenous -colonial history and …a love story on 5-string banjo, quena, flute, harmonica, bodhran and bones.

Performed by Jan Wostiszky OAM , who grew up listening to stories of his Czech-Scots family. He was the co-founder of the much loved band, The Bushwackers and has had a fifty plus year career of storytelling in theatre, radio and TV. Performing with Penny Glass who worked in community and political theatre in Australia and 20 years with prison theatre in Chile, where she co-founded the cultural activist collective Colective Sustento.

The Other Noonans blend satire, parody, social justice and more with harmony and musicianship. Sam’s Warm Pure vocals and percussion plus Danny’s guitar, multi-instrumentalism and harmony make it easy to see why they are making a name on the festival scene.
