Tucked away in stunning Stanley, surrounded by lush chestnut, cherry and apple orchards, lies this charming country pub. Established in 1854, the pub has been looking after the local farmers and visitors alike for over 150 years, and with a fresh new renovation, the old girl keeps on kicking goals.
The unique apple box bar is bursting with locally produced wines, spirits and beers, and the kitchen serves up seasonal local produce with an Asian touch–think thai red duck curry, whole fried fish, banh mi and crunchy pork tonkatsu. Pop by for lunch, dinner or some tasty bar fare.
This tight-knit farming community is renowned for its cool climate, fertile soils and incredible produce. Swing by the general store at the side of the pub for some Stanley Pub Grub meals and goodies from the kitchen to local gins, wines and beers or grab a toastie, cake or coffee and stay a while.
In the warmer months, enjoy the light and airy sunroom, or enjoy a band as you sip a Stanley apple cider in the leafy beer garden. When winter sets in, cosy up by the open fire in the lounge with a velvety cool climate pinot noir.
Stanley is a picturesque ten minute drive or a 50 minute bike ride from the historic gold rush town of Beechworth in Victoria’s High Country.
