Join cultural practitioner and artist Dean Biŋkin Tyson (Quandamooka and Gurang) for a special cultural experience at Redland Art Gallery, Cleveland.

In this ochre painting workshop, participants will receive guidance from Dean while learning about traditional ochre techniques. Dean’s practice explores body painting as cultural adornment, privilege and resistance.

Drawing on decades as a dancer, song man and bidiyamundu (didgeridoo) player, Dean honours ancestral markings and the stories of yulu burri ba—belonging to the sand and sea.

Following the workshop, hear directly from Dean to gain deeper insight into his work and the exhibition, CREATE EXCHANGE: Painted Up.

Afterwards, take a short stroll to RPAC to visit The Mezz Gallery and experience the continuation of this powerful exhibition.

‘Stories in Ochre workshop with Dean Bingkin Tyson’ is a proud partner of Redlands Coast AdventureFest and part of the Redlands Coast Gallery and Museum Hop.
