Itinerary highlights

Trout fly fishing rivers and lakes of Tasmania.

Tasmania now arguably has the purest strains of wild brown trout populations on the planet earth.

Tasmania boasts a low human population in an oceanic and temperate climate zone, has great amounts of protected habitat, and a pristine environment.

A balanced diversity of endemic and acclimatised wildlife covers this scenic island landmass, segregated and almost isolated from the rest of the populated world.

Solitude, peace and serenity are never very far away if you want to find it. Tasmania is renowned for it’s thousands of kilometres of small brooks, streams, rivers and estuaries, 30 very large lakes including the deepest freshwater lake in the southern hemisphere, 300 substantial lakes and more than 1000 glacial lakes and tarns abounding with wild trout.

Water plays such an important role in Tasmania that 95% of the energy production is renewable and generated through hydro electricity.

Learn about fly fishing for the prince of freshwater sport fish and perhaps follow the path to mastering the art.
