The Hive Bar is a small local’s bar and burger restaurant, established back in 2009. With vinyl DJs spinning records Friday through Sunday, the team have a big love of music and a connection to the Sydney community who collect it.
The bar hosts regular vinyl events and you can be sure there’s always something fun on the calendar. Other entertainment includes a weekly Thursday comedy night that is hosted upstairs, which has been running for close to 10 years. You can catch some of Sydney’s best professional and amateur comedians in an intimate environment.
The kitchen has a strong focus on seasonal and native produce, as does the rotating cocktail list. Seventy per cent of the food menu is vegan, with rotating weekly specials. All meat used is local, ethically farmed and completely free range.
The beverage selection also supports local. The house gin is from Archie Rose Distillery, perfectly garnished with a fresh lemon myrtle leaf. Akasha Brewing Pale Ale is the house pour, alongside a rotating tap list of delicious independent Australian brews. There are lots of natty wines to choose from, and an impressive backbar of domestic and international spirits.
