Located within the reception building of the Eromanga Natural History Museum, the 4th Trochanter Café is the perfect place to relax, refuel and soak in the Outback atmosphere.

Settle into comfortable seating, enjoy quality coffee and grab a bite to eat while taking in views of dinosaur country. Guests can choose from a selection of light baked items from the display cabinet, perfect for a quick snack or something sweet during their visit.

Whether you’re starting your museum experience or unwinding after a tour, the café offers a welcoming space to pause and recharge.

The café’s unique name is inspired by a fascinating piece of palaeontology. Nearby, a 3D replica of the femur of Australotitan cooperensis highlights the “4th trochanter” – a prominent anatomical feature. Also on display is a fossilised 4th trochanter from a referred specimen, with interpretive panels explaining its function.

This feature was the attachment point for powerful muscles and tendons that aided the movement of this enormous titanosaur.

Blending great coffee with real science, the 4th Trochanter Café offers a dining experience that’s truly something else.
