Blue Mountains Stargazing

The Blue Mountains has some of the brightest skies in New South Wales. This makes for exceptional stargazing, as Dr Dimitri Douchin (an astrophysicist) knows only too well.

During 90-minute tours of the sky, visitors will embark on a journey of the southern sky. Gaze up with the naked eye to identify stars, planets and constellations, and hear the stories behind them. Then peer out through a telescope, which offers a front-row seat to the moon and its craters and seas, Saturn’s rings, the Orion Nebula, deep-space objects and shooting stars. Perfect for all ages, this unforgettable tour makes the perfect night out away from the city lights.

In case of cloudy skies, take things up a notch and visit Douchin’s pop-up planetarium, illuminating the constellations from the comfort of an inflatable bubble with a mug of chocolate in hand.
