Discover the joy of ballet in a welcoming, supportive environment with Adult Ballet for All Abilities, an inclusive and accessible ballet and repertoire class designed for people of any experience, age, or physical ability.

Following the structure of a traditional ballet class, participants will be prompted with standing, seated and/or adapted movement options as required. Ideal for adults and seniors who are new to ballet or seeking a supported and inclusive movement experience.

Queensland Ballet Teaching Artists will guide participants through ballet-inspired exercises that explore coordination, balance, strength, musicality and self-expression, with clear options and adaptions provided so everyone can move in a way that feels safe and empowering.

No prior dance experience is required.

What to expect
A welcoming, supportive class led by Queensland Ballet Teaching Artists, starting with a gentle warm-up, barre work, some centre exercises and finishing with an adapted piece of Queensland Ballet repertoire and a cool-down.
Ballet-inspired movement and terminology explored through both seated and standing options
Adaptions and alternatives offered throughout the class to suit individuals.
A gentle pace with time to learn, rest and explore movement safely. Focus on coordination, balance, strength, musicality and enjoyment.
Participation is encouraged at your own comfort level

What to bring
Comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily
Ballet shoes, socks or light, flexible sneakers (all are welcome)
