Away from city lights, Stanthorpe’s high elevation, cool climate and low light pollution make it one of Queensland’s best locations for stargazing.

Back for its third year, this popular Stargazing Night at Ridgemill Estate invites visitors to slow down, look up and experience the stars like never before.

The evening begins with live music and local food, alongside a unique opportunity to solar gaze through dedicated solar scopes as the sun sets across the estate.

As darkness falls, multiple high powered telescopes on the Village Green reveal the night sky. Celestial highlights for this experience include Jupiter and Venus in the north west, the Emu in the Sky (a well known Aboriginal constellation in the Milky Way) along with nebulae, galaxies and other deep sky objects visible only through powerful telescopes.

Passionate local and visiting astronomy enthusiasts guide the experience, sharing stories, insights and clear explanations that bring the sky to life.

Laser guided constellation tours and short videos with educational talks in the Cosmos Cave add another layer to the evening, allowing visitors to explore the sky in new ways and deepen their understanding of the cosmos.

Don’t miss this chance to experience the magic of the night sky and be part of something bigger.

Children must be supervised, and no pets are allowed.
