Located on the edge of the hamlet of Longley, the property is within reach of all conveniences of the urban world (10 mins to Kingston 20 mins to Hobart), yet far away in all other senses.
Nestled here in the foothills of kunyani/Mt Wellington is a sanctum of calm and an invitation to lose yourself in it. When you’re ready to brave the world, the Huon Valley, Bruny Island, Wellington Park, untold numbers of waterfalls and southern beaches are at your doorstep.
Curated by travellers for travellers, you’ll appreciate some of the details to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Hand-built from mud brick and local recycled timbers, character oozes from every notch and nook of this cosy cottage. Poet’s Ode offers a basic kitchenette complete with a coffee machine, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster and accoutrements.
Primarily it sleeps 2 persons, however, we can add a single trundle bed for a child or that special “third wheel”.
With stars on the screen and stars overhead, a glass of wine and a rug, you may not want to leave your private movie theatre to go to bed. The Donkey Shed Theatre is rustic charm embodied with a 4k mini-projector, it allows you to direct cast your favourite entertainment apps, movies, TV shows, etc from your own device.
