Cairns Aquarium is Australia’s newest and most spectacular aquarium. It is the only aquarium in the world to exclusively showcase the stunning aquatic wildlife from Tropical North Queensland’s two World Heritage-listed areas – the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics Rainforest.

Journey through the waterways from freshwater rivers flowing through the rainforest, into the mangroves and finally into the depths of the Great Barrier Reef. Discover 11 amazing North Queensland ecosystems from the world’s most ancient rainforest to the world’s largest coral reef to discover 71 different exhibits showcasing this region’s extremely rare and incredibly unique species. Experience animal presentations, habitat talks, interact with a marine touch tank and see daily shark and ray feeds.

Go Behind-The-Scenes and experience hand feeding Cownose Rays on a Marine Life Encounter including a visit to see the animals being cared for at the Cairns Turtle Hospital.

Aquarium by Twilight, join us for an after hours 2 hour guided tour with a wildlife educator. Complete your evening with a optional three-course dinner, against a a stunning sea life backdrop at Squire’s Loft Restaurant.

Night at the Aquarium, Cairns’ best after-dark experience on an 1.5 hour exclusive after-hours guided night tour. Gain an understanding of nocturnal animals’ behaviours in Tropical North Queensland’s aquatic environments. Complete your night with an optional 2 course dinner the onsite aquatic Squire’s Loft Restaurant.
