This May, the iconic Paniyiri Greek Festival marks five decades of sharing Greek food, culture and community with Brisbane. Held over one spectacular weekend, Musgrave Park will transform into a vibrant Greek village, filled with authentic cuisine, traditional dancing, live music and non-stop entertainment.

From souvlaki and spanakopita to loukoumades and flaky pastries, festival-goers can enjoy a true taste of Greece. There’ll also be cooking demonstrations from celebrated chefs, wine tastings showcasing varietals like Assyrtiko, and cultural performances that invite you to get involved.

What began as a small community gathering in 1976 has grown into Queensland’s largest cultural festival and Australia’s longest-running Greek festival. This milestone year celebrates not only Greek heritage, but the generations of volunteers and community spirit behind it.

Beyond the park, The Greek Club offers an extended cultural experience with art, history and interactive activities for all ages, while families can enjoy dedicated kids’ entertainment throughout the weekend.

Whether you’re Greek, a lover of Mediterranean culture, or simply here for great food and atmosphere, Paniyiri promises an unforgettable weekend.
