Departing from the Cruise Ship Terminal in Penneshaw, your tasting journey begins with a visit to Emu Bay Lavender Farm, where you’ll enjoy morning tea and sample a selection of fragrant lavender products.

Next, indulge in a wine tasting at either Bay of Shoals Wines or Springs Rd Winery, savoring some of Kangaroo Island’s finest vintages. From there, we head to Kingscote, where you’ll have an hour to explore the charming coastal town, browse local shops, or enjoy lunch at your own expense.

After Kingscote, we stop at Island Beehive, where you can taste the island’s renowned Ligurian honey and learn about the fascinating history of these unique bees. Then, it’s time to sip on handcrafted gin at Kangaroo Island Spirits, home to award-winning small-batch distillations.

Our journey continues to Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery, where you’ll discover South Australia’s only operational eucalyptus distillery and enjoy a refreshing cider tasting.

To wrap up the day, we take a scenic drive back to Penneshaw, stopping at Pennington Bay (if time permits) for breathtaking coastal views before returning to the cruise ship terminal.

Island Beehive (Kangaroo Island Ligurian Bee Co) is a family-owned business that produces world renowned, certified organic Ligurian Bee Honey.

Their interactive Visitor Centre promotes the Ligurian Bee story and provides links between heritage, environment and food production. See live hives, explore their local products and take a moment to taste their honey icecream!

Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil Distillery

Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil Distillery is a unique, family-run business on Kangaroo Island, specializing in the production of 100% pure eucalyptus oil.

Using the native Kangaroo Island Narrow Leaf Mallee, Emu Ridge is one of the few remaining eucalyptus distilleries in Australia. Visitors can enjoy a guided tour of the distillation process, learning how the oil is extracted and the versatile uses of eucalyptus in natural health, cleaning, and skincare.

Using locally sourced ingredients like juniper, lemon myrtle, and native coastal daisy bush, KIS creates award-winning gins, vodkas, and liqueurs with distinctive, complex flavors. Visitors can enjoy guided tastings of signature spirits such as Wild Gin, O’Gin, and Mulberry Gin, each reflecting the island’s natural beauty.

The distillery also offers refreshing cocktails, including their famous gin and tonic made with house-made tonic syrup. A visit to KIS provides a sensory journey through the art of small-batch distillation, making it a highlight for craft spirit enthusiasts.

Kingscote

Kingscote is the largest town on Kangaroo Island, sitting along Nepean Bay. The central hub of Kangaroo Island it provides a wonderful array of local café’s and gift shops and a background glimpse into life on the island.
