In Focus Festival showcases striking photography across the streets, laneways and public spaces of Maribyrnong.

Over six weeks, the medium of photography is celebrated with ten sites in the Footscray’s City Centre and Yarraville activated by eight artists’ work in lightboxes, billboards, and blade installations, and a photography exhibition, The Art of Observation, featuring fifteen photographers at the Civic Precinct and Community Hub.

The festival is free, outdoors and open to everyone, encouraging spontaneous discovery and the power of the image to enchant us.

Actively welcomes people with access needs.

General access

  • Offers multiple options for booking – web, email, phone is available.
  • Offers a range of contact methods for receiving complaints.
  • Staff are trained in disability awareness.
  • Asks all visitors if there are any specific needs to be met.
  • Advise tour guides of the access needs of guests at the time of booking (includes pick up and drop off requirements)

Vision

  • Caters for people who are blind or have vision loss.

  • Digital communication materials (hard copy information also online) is available.
  • Uses easy to read fonts in their signage and communication materials (Helvetica and Arial).

Physical – Mobility

  • Caters for people with sufficient mobility to climb a few steps but who would benefit from fixtures to aid balance. (This includes people using walking frames and mobility aids)

Physical – Wheelchair

  • Caters for people who use a wheelchair.

Physical – High support needs

  • Caters for people with high support needs who travel with a support person.
