Years in the making and unlike anything Australia has ever seen, PirateFest is a grand and immersive event at Seaworks Melbourne.

An exciting historical exhibition charting the history of pirates – from the ancient Egyptians, Romans and Barbary Pirates of the Mediterranean and North Africa, right through to the notorious 18th century Golden Age of Piracy – PirateFest is an adventure for all ages as attendees step into the world of pirates from one era to the next.

PirateFest showcases genuine artefacts, relics and atmospheric sets filled with hyper-realistic pirate mannequins, dramatic theatre props, and even holographic ghostly captains who share tales of mutiny, treasure and betrayal.

With in-character guides and experiences designed to feel cinematic, transportive and just a little rebellious, PirateFest brings to life dark taverns, pirate hideouts, a skull cave, shipwrecks, a desert island, a pirate courtroom and jail, a bustling pirate kitchen, the Hall of Infamy, treasure-filled chambers and more features that recreate the world that seafaring outlaws once knew.

With bold and cheeky experiences for adults and hands-on adventures for young deckhands like a treasure dig and clue-based activities, PirateFest is created by the same team behind the hugely successful DinoFest event.
