In an Alternate Weave workshop, participants use Coccus Palm and vibrant raffia to craft small, whimsical sea creatures—tiny fish, curling octopuses… The workshop typically begins with a grounding introduction to the fibers: how to soften palm strands, learning techniques and form, and having fun with colour.
The process is meditative, tactile, and delightfully intuitive, inviting participants of all skill levels to explore the playful side of fiber art. By the end, each maker has not only a unique woven creature but also a deeper appreciation for how natural materials and imaginative techniques can bring tiny worlds to life.
Alternate Weave Workshops: Minimum age seven years. Duration two hours.
