Naarm shakes a leg this RISING, as the inaugural Australian Dance Biennale takes over the city’s theatres, halls, and public squares.

It’s a major new program showcasing the strength and diversity of Australian and international dance. A city-wide invitation to unlock new joys on the dance floor and embrace sculpted moments of movement from leading choreographers.

The Biennale is packed with forest witchcraft, high-fashion hypnotism, Belfast brawling, Aotearoa vogueing, tragicomic abomination, contemporary parable, love fantasies, musicals that bleed and contraptions that collapse.

They’re re-opening the Flinders Steet Station Ballroom to the public too. So, you can glide the night away learning dance from Victorian dance legends and international stars. There’ll also be National Dance Summit dedicated to cultural exchange and artist-amplification, and a delegate program connecting Australian artists with national and international presenters.

Naarm’s dance card has never been so full. Leap to it.
