Walgun Cape Byron Aboriginal Tour
Discover the beauty and cultural narratives of Walgun (Cape Byron), the easternmost point of mainland Australia. This 1 km (1.5 hour) walking tour blends local history, Dreaming stories, and stunning natural landscapes.
As you stroll through coastal rainforests and along rocky cliffs, you’ll learn Bundjalung language, discover native food and medicine, and have the chance to observe wildlife like dolphins, wallabies and fairy wrens.
The tour concludes with a tasting of native food, refreshing bush tea, and biscuits. Perfect for those seeking a deeper connection with nature and culture, this tour is an inspiring exploration of the heritage and beauty of Byron Bay.
Byron Bay Lighthouse Aboriginal Tour
Come with Delta Kay for an inspiring 2.5-hour guided Aboriginal walking tour as we make our way along the 3.7 km iconic Walgun Cape Byron Lighthouse Loop Trail.
Beginning at Clarkes Beach, this tour takes guests up the Tallow Ridge Walking Track through serene coastal rainforests before reaching the Cape Byron Lighthouse. The tour then follows the Cape Byron Walking Track past Australia’s most easterly point, Wategos Beach, The Pass and then returns to Clarkes Beach.
During the tour, Delta will share powerful Dreaming stories, and guests will have opportunities to learn about native bush foods and natural medicine.
As you explore the Lighthouse trail, let the beauty of the land and its ancient stories connect you to Country.
Moderate fitness is required for this tour, with steep sections and lots of stairs as you ascend the rainforest trail. This tour is also not recommended for children under 8 years of age.
