Ride the Gillies Range to Lake Barrine, a volcanic crater in the lovely Atherton Tablelands. Go off road and discover the massive Curtain Fig Trees and historic tin mining towns of Herberton, Watsonville and Irvinebank. Stop at the pub with no beer before heading to Chillagoe for the first time.
In the morning do a caves tour and then head towards Fosayth for night two. Day 3 is from Forsayth to Undara, the longest and best preserved lave tube systems in the world.
Day 4 Undara back to Cairns via Innot Hot Springs for a change to dip in the thermal waters.
