Step into Stanley’s newest waterfront stay – the Bond Store, an 1850s stone warehouse thoughtfully restored into two private apartments where heritage, sea and comfort meet.
Set on the edge of the original wharf, the Bond Store faces the bay as it has for generations. From your sunroom or private deck, watch weather move across the water, golden light settle at day’s end, and little penguins returning home along the shoreline each evening.
Inside, original bluestone walls and timber beams hold the memory of the building’s past as a working produce store. Layers of history sit comfortably beside contemporary luxury, with Tasmanian art, handcrafted details and carefully chosen furnishings creating spaces that feel both grounded and quietly indulgent.
Each apartment offers a fully equipped kitchen, warm living spaces centred around a real wood fire, and an upstairs bedroom suite with a skylit bathroom and deep soaking bath – a place to slow down and let the rhythm of the sea take over.
Beyond your door, a shared courtyard invites you to warm in the cedar sauna, cool beneath the outdoor shower, or, for the brave, take a plunge in the ocean nearby.
Just a short walk from Stanley’s cafés, galleries and historic cottages, the Bond Store is more than accommodation, it’s a place to settle, breathe, and live a little of the town’s continuing story.
