This is a fully operational farm with approximately 70% of the land cleared, while the remaining portion is covered in bushland. Nestled in a sub-alpine region, the weather can change rapidly, even leading to snowfall at times. Guests have the option to choose from five available paddocks for camping, with no designated campsites, allowing them to select their preferred spot.
For those seeking a more self-contained experience, there is also a separate listing for Calabash Manager’s Cottage, with four bedrooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen, complete with heating from a slow-combustion wood stove, ensuring a cozy and relaxing stay.
There are no amenities provided for campers, so guests are required to bring their own supplies and adhere to the “leave no trace” principle. While there is ample firewood in the form of branches on the ground, campfires are only permitted when there are no fire restrictions in place.
Guests are welcome to bring dogs along; however, as the property is home to sheep, it’s crucial that dogs are well-controlled and kept on a leash at all times.
There is plenty of firewood on the property, and guests can also opt to purchase cut firewood as an extra. Check with the host regarding local fire conditions to ensure a safe and enjoyable stay.
This is a hosted stay through Hipcamp.
