The Capitol Theatre Tamworth is a 402 seat purpose-built proscenium arch theatre.

Located right in the heart of Tamworth, the Capitol Theatre is
situated in the Entertainment Quarter of Centrepoint Shopping Centre, on Level 1, the Capitol Theatre shares its foyer and bar with the Forum6 Cinema.

Theatre and Production Consultant, Richard Stuart was engaged to plan and oversee the fit-out of the theatre. With a hydraulic orchestra pit lift, automated winch flying system, and well-equipped sound and lighting rigs, the Capitol Theatre is a great performing arts venue.

The Capitol Theatre Tamworth is a regular stop on the national touring circuit and a well-occupied theatre for local and regional events and productions.

Capitol Theatre Tamworth is a proud initiative of Tamworth Regional Council, the venue is managed and operated by the Entertainment Venues Division of Council.

The theatre is named after an old theatre that stood almost in the same position, the Capitol Theatre, and we hope that in many years to come you too will have fond memories of our new theatre, just like those Tamworth people who remember the old one.
