Mead Tasting: At Maxwell Wines, we’ve been making mead for 3 generations. One of the oldest known alcoholic beverages on record, mead is full of both history and flavour! Book a mead flight with us to try our four delicious styles of meads. Flight includes Sparkling Mead, Honey Mead, Spiced Mead and Liqueur Mead.

Non-Drinker: Please add in any additional non-drinkers, drivers, or children that will require seating so that we can allocate the most appropriate table.

Maxwell Wines Experiences

Maxwell Wines was established in 1979 and built into a limestone hill. Proudly family-owned and with wines showcased across the country and overseas, Maxwell Wines offers visitors a window into the world of a working winery and vineyard. With fine wines and meads showcased in an award-winning cellar door and restaurant as well as a range of outstanding tourism experiences.

Embark on a behind the scenes tour of the winery with an exclusive private tasting experience and discover more about the fascinating history and heritage of Maxwell. You will have a rare opportunity to taste wine directly from the barrel to compare the oaks they are maturing in – just like a winemaker! You will also have the chance to explore the 100-year-old Lime Cave.

Located only 45 minutes from the Adelaide CBD and 15 minutes from the pristine beaches of the south coast Maxwell is an unmissable destination in McLaren Vale.
