In the heart of Brunswick East, CERES is a Melbourne icon – a community-built park where nature, culture and creativity come together.
Families love the adventure playground, winding garden paths and friendly farm animals. On weekends the park comes alive with live music, seasonal food and a relaxed community vibe. Makers’ markets pop up throughout the year, and there’s always exciting seasonal events happening.
You can grab a coffee or lunch at the Merri Café, wander through the Nursery to find native and edible plants, or join a hands-on workshop to learn everything from gardening to cheese-making.
But CERES is more than a great day out. For over forty years, this former rubbish tip has been transformed by community effort into a thriving green village – a place that shows what’s possible when people care for the earth and each other.
