Itinerary highlights
Mount Lofty Summit
Before arriving at the wildlife park, we take a short stop at Mount Lofty Summit to enjoy the magnificent panorama over Adelaide. At approximately 710 metres, the summit is the highest point in the Adelaide Hills with uninterrupted views to the Gulf St. Vincent and as far as the eye can see north and south along the coastline.
Cleland Wildlife Park
Sightseeing, Nature and Wildlife, by pureSA
There are very few animal enclosures at Cleland. Most animals live in natural habitat and you can get up close for great photos. The animals are fully adapted to the park setting and accustomed to people, meaning you can pat and feed them.
As you make your way around the park you will see marsupials such as koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, bettongs, and potoroos. See dingoes, the Tasmanian devil, native birds, water birds and forest birds, snakes, reptiles and even the elusive echidna.
The Up Close Koala Experience is included in your entry fee. You will have an opportunity to feel its fur, learn about their unique features and take photos standing next to the koala. The sessions are limited and are on a first come first serve basis so we would recommend you arrive at the designated area early to avoid disappointment.
Important – for the well-being of the koalas, koala experiences will be cancelled if temperatures are forecast at over 32°C in Mount Barker or for other welfare reasons determined by the park.
