This tour is stationary at Lennox Head NSW, just 15 minutes south of Byron Bay on our most sacred grounds. Aunty Lois is a Traditional Custodian of Ngangbul country in the Bundjalung Nation of Eastern Australia.
Treat yourself to a day of relaxation indulge yourself for the day, if you are looking to escape for the day by immersing themselves sitting at our Sacred Lake. Dive into our Tea Tree waters refresh and rebalance enjoy the experience.
The tour includes: Some bush tucker to share with you, you can also bring your favourite foods to share if you like, drinks available tea, coffee and water.
You will be taken back in time listening to dreamtime stories from the area and how important our sacred lake is. We will also be weaving a basket from native resources, a cultural smoking ceremony and acknowledging our sacred connection to the waters, and what makes our region so unique.

Sacred Healing Lake at Lennox Head
This site is highly significant to the Bundjalung Nation as it is known as our healing lake mentioned in our complexed stories of the Beginning of our nation and the Three Brothers Story of their journey to our lands, the creation of our lore’s and customs and creation of our nation.
Lake Ainsworth was a significant Ceremonial sit and campsite for local Aboriginal People, it was used for gatherings, ceremonies and seasonal living place. The surrounding landscape include Bora Rings( traditional initiation grounds and other Aboriginal archaeological sites like middens and burial grounds.
The lake is featured in Aboriginal Dreaming Stories, including the ancestral figures (the Three Brothers) which underpins cultural beliefs, about the landscape and its connection to creation and ongoing spiritual presence.
Some accounts of oral history record some parts of the lake culturally set aside for women’s activities birthing and bathing practices in the waters therapeutic tea-tree waters. the lake reflects its role in community life and cultural rites.

Meet Traditional custodians and Elder Lois Cook, listen to her remarkable stories and histories of the area and homelands. A Welcome to Country at your Events including a Smoking Ceremonies connecting you to country spiritually and stories of the area. We also have a stationary event at Lennox Heads Lake Ainsworth where I will facilitate a workshops which include a Welcome, smoking ceremony storytelling and weaving and dance.
