Karrawatta’s cellar door is housed in a converted dairy, nestled in our Adelaide Hills vineyard between old vines and classic Australian bush. Join us for tailored wine tastings of our single site wines, guided vineyard walks or just sit back with a glass of wine and cheese. We collaborate with outstanding South Australian chefs to offer pop-up and private events by appointment.

Karrawatta Wines is a small family wine company, making small batch wines from their own vineyards in the Hills, Langhorne Creek and McLaren Vale since 2012.

Young! However, owner/winemaker Mark Gilbert’s involvement in the wine industry runs in the family, beginning in 1847 when his great-great-great grandfather Joseph Gilbert planted Pewsey Vale. For Karrawatta, it’s all about site, soil and climate, meticulous vineyard management and soft careful winemaking, and they’ve been fortunate to receive some great accolades already, including five stars from James Halliday.
