The wild is calling at Monarto Safari Park, the largest safari experience outside of Africa.

Monarto Safari Park is home to more than 500 exotic and Australian native animals, including many of Africa’s most impressive animals such as rhinos, lions, giraffe, meerkats and chimps.

Explore the open plains of the park and its abundant flora and fauna by discovering some or all of the 12 kms of walking trails and by hopping on the Zu-loop shuttle bus for a guided tour of the park.

As you travel around the open plains of Monarto Safari Park, you could be forgiven for thinking you’ve stepped out onto your very own African safari! The journey takes you through large open-range exhibits, allowing you to see the animals in a natural setting and to hear more from passionate guides!

To make the most of your visit, make sure you hop off at the viewing platforms, enjoy a keeper presentation or book an up-close Animal Experience for your opportunity to come face to face with some of our animals. Mingle with meerkats, experience the thrill of hand-feeding ginormous giraffe, feel the roars of lions reverberate through your chest or leap into the Land of Lemurs.

The Grapes for Good Tasting Trail lets you enjoy a specially prepared dish paired with a sample of each of the unique Grapes for Good wines at each of the wineries, all of which contribute towards critical conservation efforts.

This unique experience also includes an entry voucher to Monarto Safari Park so you can come back another day to discover the wild (voucher valid for 3 years).

Have you ever wanted to find out what it is like to be knee high to a giraffe? Experience the thrill of hand feeding these majestic animals in their rarely seen off limits area. This experience can be booked on the day subject to availability.

This experience allows you to spend some time with our Cheetah and our safari park keepers to learn first-hand about these incredible animals as well as the park’s breeding programs for rare and endangered species. Make sure you stay alert for a chance to see our inquisitive Cheetah cubs as they explore their new surroundings!

To make your walk safe and enjoyable, all participants must wear enclosed flat footwear. Long pants are desirable and gum boots are not permitted. Please don’t wear red or bright colours as these could cause some unexpected responses from the animal.

Please note that all animal experiences require enclosed footwear.

Get up close to magnificent Black Rhinos and Southern White Rhinos on our Black and White Rhino Interactive tour!

Ever wondered what a rhino feels like? Wonder no more. Our unique tour is your chance to touch, feed and learn all about these horned and humungous creatures.

As part of your tour, you’ll journey through Monarto Safari Park to come face-to-horn with a crash of truly impressive Southern White Rhinos. You’ll discover that despite their size and stature, these gentle giants often enjoy a tickle behind the ears and a rub between their armoured folds.

Travelling deeper into the park, you’ll find Black Rhinos are an entirely different species in both looks and temperament…

Regardless of these differences, both species are sadly threatened with extinction. Your visit helps to fight for their future in the wild and provide a home for them in Australia’s first ever rhino quarantine and management centre right here at Monarto Safari Park.

Meerkat Mingle

Meerkat Mingle

Mix it with their inquisitive meerkat mob in a unique and fun interactive experience. You’ll enjoy time in their exhibit with a keeper mingling with these playful creatures. Enjoy great photographic opportunities as the meerkats interact with you for some tasty treats.

Unfortunately, this experience isn’t wheelchair accessible and surfaces are uneven. Not suitable for pregnant women. Participants will need to be able to stand up from the seated position so reasonable mobility is required. Not suitable for those with nut or egg allergies as peanuts and eggs are used during the encounter. Skirts are not permitted.

Set off on an exhilarating expedition through the habitat of this stripy species as they whip and zip from tree to tree or run between your feet!

Immerse yourself in all things Ring-tailed Lemur, hear them purr and see them pounce and play.

Our Zu-loop bus does not venture past the lemurs, so Land of the Lemurs is an exclusive opportunity to mingle with the troop.

You’ll also encounter the Tortoise Research Facility where the Aldabra Giant and Radiated Tortoises lap up life in the slow lane.

Your visit will support Ring-tailed Lemurs, an endangered species threatened with extinction.

Ever wondered what it’s like to be a zoo keeper? This is a unique opportunity to work interactively with some of their specialist keepers.

You’ll be involved in feeding the animals, undertaking health checks and preparing exhibits. This is a once in a life time opportunity for all animal lovers.
