The Dunedoo Woodland Learning Centre includes interpretive signage and is home to remnant endangered Grassy Box Woodland which is a diverse mix of species dominated by White Box, Yellow Box and/or Blakely’s Red Gum trees and a ground layer usually dominated by perennial grass tussocks.

The two-four kilometre walking track meanders through 33 acres of Grassy Box Woodlands which used to dominate the Central West region but is now listed as an endangered ecological community in Australia under the NSW Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995. Less than one percent of the original Box-gum woodlands land remains with over five million acres destroyed..

The woodlands are located on Avonside Road near the Dunedoo Cemetery, just five minutes from town. The Dunedoo Woodlands are managed by the Dunedoo Coolah Landcare.
