These magical little lagoons located on the south side of Elliot Heads Beach on Dr Mays Island are filled with thriving marine life and the perfect spot to soak up the sunshine of the Southern Great Barrier Reef.
If you visited on the top of the tide you wouldn’t know they are there but once it starts to go out there is so much to see on the rock shelf that is exposed.
You will find sea life within the rock pools, some closest to the beach are shallow with a sandy base while others further out on the shelf are deeper and need a bit of care getting in and out.
