Named in celebration of the historic federation of the six British colonies that formed the nation of Australia in 1901and located behind the Rainmoth Gallery, Federation Park showcases information boards depicting the history of irrigation in the Waikerie district. Visitors can see an original irrigation channel and learn about the installation of the salt interception scheme and a visual representation of the amount of salt that is being removed from the Murray River each day. From late November to early January, the park also plays host to the Waikerie Christmas Tree Trail.
