The Fernvale Murals were conceived as a community project to help re-establish pride and confidence in the town after the trauma of the 2011 floods.

There are three murals located around the Fernvale Memorial Park along the Brisbane Valley Highway. The design of the murals is not intended to show the town exactly as it was, but rather to illustrate the life of the growing community.

The buildings seen in the murals are taken from photographs of the actual building which stood in Fernvale in the early days, some of which can still be seen in the town today.
