This brand-new track is a four day three night walk along the Gidjuum Gulganyi Track. They begin their journey in the caldera of the ancient volcano of Wollumbin, in the World Heritage-listed Gondwana Rainforest of Australia.
Their four day three night walk along the Gidjuum Gulganyi Track (Old Peoples Track) takes you through the traditional lands of the Widjabul Wia-bal and Minjumgbal people of the Bundjalung Nation.
Everything is included – Tent, sleeping mat, transport, expert professional guides and delicious food for all meals.
The walk can be done either as a full pack or pack free option where equipment and belongings are transported to the campsites each day.
Itinerary highlights
We traverse the southeastern rim of the volcanic crater ending our walk at spectacular Minyon Falls.
Your professional guides will impart their knowledge of this truly amazing subtropical and warm temperate rainforest and its environmental and cultural heritage, while you are immersed in nature and pleasantly distracted by views of the impressive peak of Wollumbin and the lush Tweed Valley, and glimpses of the ocean to the east.
On our second day we climb for the first hour reaching the lookout with stunning views.
From the lookout, we have spectacular views of Wollumbin across Mount Jerusalem National Park. We spend time walking amongst the ancient old growth blackbutt forest skirting the warm temperate rainforest.
