East Shores Precinct offers a vibrant, modern foreshore destination that brings together harbour views, green space and recreation in one place. The precinct lies along Flinders Parade and stretches out along Gladstone’s famed harbour, giving locals and visitors easy access to the waterfront and open space.

People can enjoy a range of outdoor amenities: a waterfront boardwalk, open grassy lawns for picnics, barbecue facilities, sheltered seating, playgrounds and a water play park that is especially popular with families.

The water play park is open daily. During warmer months it operates from roughly 9 am until 9 pm; during cooler months its hours are shorter, but it still provides a fun splash-around spot for children and adults alike.

For those who want a broader perspective, the stairs at East Shores lead up to Auckland Hill Lookout; a vantage point that offers sweeping views over the harbour, port and city. The refurbished lookout and cafe offer visitors and locals alike a uniquely Gladstone perspective and can also be accessed by vehicle.

The precinct below features a waterfront café, picnic and barbecue shelters, an outdoor cinema, public amenities including toilets and paths wide enough for walking, scooters or bikes.

For a city powered by industry, East Shores shows how Gladstone can also offer calm, green, family-friendly spaces, a place where nature, community and the harbour meet in harmony.
