Visit Glenelg’s historic Air Raid Shelter, built in 1942 to house war-time communications systems.
It now houses exhibitions and memorabilia. These tell the stories of Holdfast Bay and its residents during the various wars including WWII.
The Shelter is staffed by volunteers who would love to hear your war related stories.
The shelter is open in the afternoon of the third Sunday of every month. It is also open on Anzac Day (25 April) and Armistice/ Remembrance Day (11 November).
Entry by gold coin donation.
Please note: There is a steep flight of steps leading to the exhibition area.
