The Glenhope Shindig is an annual regional tourism event held at Glenhope Bush Camp, a family owned working merino sheep property located near Cobar, NSW.
The event currently attracts approximately 300-450 visitors across the event period, with the majority travelling from outside the region, reinforcing its role as a tourism focused initiative.
The event delivers an authentic outback experience combining rural heritage, live entertainment, and community engagement, including shearing demonstrations, camp oven cooking, bush poetry and live music.
Strategically located along a major touring route and aligned with regional travel patterns, the event is uniquely positioned to capture travellers already moving through the region and convert them into overnight visitors, increasing visitation and economic activity within Cobar. In 2024, the event recorded over 216 ticketed attendees, with additional gate visitors. With funding, the event is projected to attract 450-600+ visitors in future years.
