Cycle, paddle, run… do you have what it takes? This annual Gloucester sporting event draws athletes from across the state for three challenging race legs: mountain biking across the Bucketts Mountains, kayaking on the Barrington River, and then a run back into Gloucester from Barrington village.
Held on the second Sunday of September each year since 1991, the Mountain Man Tri Challenge starts and ends in Gloucester District Park.
The race consists of a 20.4-kilometre mountain bike ride along the mountain and four wheel drive roads, creek beds, cattle tracks, rainforest and open country; a 10.7-kilometre kayak paddle down the crystal clear waters of the Barrington River; and an 8.8-kilometre run leg along the scenic Thunderbolts Way and back into the Gloucester District Park.
