Itinerary highlights
Welcome to Country and local history
Traditionally, Aboriginal people would welcome visitors according to cultural protocol.
Whilst the traditional ceremony is much longer, this welcome is brief, giving the recipient/s a taste of local Noongar language and information about the local area, traditional terrain and what the Aboriginal people may have done there.
The use of locally-sourced ochre clay to paint each participant symbolises a connection to the earth and unity with one another.
