Great Keppel Island Hideaway welcomes guests to share their barefoot island paradise, an authentic locally owned Island resort situated on the Southern Great Barrier Reef, merely 30 minutes by ferry from Yeppoon.

The Resort boasts simplistic back to basic cabin and motel room style accommodation and a fully licensed restaurant and bar overlooking The Sourthern Great Barrier Reef. Explore private coves and pockets of fringing coral reef from their 17 pristine white sandy beaches around Great Keppel Island.

Safe swimming all year, snorkeling, PADI diving or simply lazing in the azure waters with turtles and dolphins. Hire stand-up paddle boards, kayaks or join a guided snorkel tour or dive tour. Fishing available straight off the beach.

Stunning scenic bushwalks which disperse trekkers around the island to secluded beaches and spectacular lookouts, or you can enjoy hidden island picnic spots to indulge and unwind. The animal life is prolific, with brush tailed possums, blue tongue lizards, goannas, echidnas and a huge variety of birdlife.

Alternatively, simply relax sipping cocktails overlooking the tranquil waters of the Southern Great Barrier Reef and breathtaking colourful sunsets over the bay.

A Frame House

A Frame House

Just a stone’s throw from Putney beach, the rustic style A-frame house is a fully self-contained little haven. Complete with your own BBQ area and equipped kitchen, the A-frame is perfect for larger families or group visits.

With an open plan layout, the house is set over 2 floors and is made up of 3 queen-sized beds and 2 singles – best suited for up to 6 guests. The lounge area is complete with comfortable sofas and a dining table, seating 6.

Full linen is included, so the only thing you’ll need are your togs and a beach towel.

Minimum 3 night stay during off-peak seasons.

Island & Beachfront Cabins

Island & Beachfront Cabins

12 self contained en-suited cabins are nestled amongst sub-tropical gardens and are a short two minute stroll to the beach and the main reception area. 3 of the 12 are full Beachfront acccommodation, with the remaining 9 just slightly back.

All cabins have an air-conditioned, separate queen bedroom and generally two singles in the main living area- some cabins may have a bunk bed. kitchenette with refrigerator, electric frypan, microwave, crockery and cutlery. A separate ensuite/bathroom contains a shower, basin and toilet, bath towels and linen are provided in your stay.

All cabins offer an outside area with either paving or decking. Relax outside your very own tropical island accommodation for a few days or longer.

Hideaway House

Hideaway House

The Hideaway House is the perfect family getaway. With 2 air-conditioned, queen bedrooms and a top and bottom bunk bed in the lounge area. The Hideaway House accommodates up to 6 people and features its own private courtyard, with a picnic bench for those lazy afternoon cheese platters.

With a fully equipped kitchen, guests can either self-cater or avoid washing up by adding on the all-meals package. The Hideaway House also has a washing machine for longer stays, please bring your own laundry detergent.

As with all of their accommodation, full linen is provided, you just need to bring your beach towels. In their accommodation, toiletries are not provided, so please bear this in mind upon packing.

Putney Place Studio

Putney Place Studio

Putney Place Studios rooms are located just a two-minute walk from Putney Beach. Each room has a queen bed and a sofa, also a small kitchenette with basic cooking facilities. These rooms have their own ensuite. You will need to bring your own toiletries as we only supply a cake of soap.

Full linen is included, so the only thing you’ll need are your togs and a beach towel.

Palm Rooms - Ensuite Motel Style

Palm Rooms – Ensuite Motel Style

Situated the other side of the footpath from the island cabins, they have 12 motel style, ensuite rooms, each with air-conditioning and tea/coffee facilities including a small bar fridge. The Palm Rooms are all Queen motel style rooms. Linen is provided (pillows, sheets, blankets and bath towel, you just need to bring a beach towel), please note they do not supply toiletries other than a cake of soap.

Garden Room - Ensuite Motel Style

Each room is air-conditioned with ensuite and tea and coffee making facilities. Full linen is provided (pillows, sheets, blankets and towels), so all you need to bring is your personal belongings and beach towel.

Whilst this accommodation option does not include a kitchen but is only a short five-minute stroll to the bar and bistro.

This precinct is great for larger families or groups who want to enjoy dining out or takeaway, as opposed to self-catering. And who wants to cook on their tropical island holiday anyway!
