A pleasant drive to the western end of Shipley Plateau passing local apple orchards, leads to Hargraves Lookout and magnificent views over the rural Megalong Valley
At the very end of Shipley Plateau is Mount Blackheath, a popular hang-gliding site from a purpose-built ramp near the lookout at 1076 metres. If the conditions are right, gliders soar over the Kanimbla Valley and can sometimes reach Bathurst.
