The village of Araluen is renowned for its fruit and vegetables. In the past, numerous peach and nectarine orchards spread throughout the valley, but sadly, this has declined over recent years, with just two orchards remaining that grow stone fruit.
Harrison & Sons is one farm still in production. It is a fourth-generation family-run mixed farm that grows fruit, vegetables, cattle, sheep, and lucerne hay.
Although much smaller in production size than in years gone by, they still enjoy growing the produce and selling directly to the public via local farmers’ markets.
Peaches and nectarines are available from November to early January and vegetables January to May.
