The Heavy Metal Penguins (Ingens Metallum Eudyptula Novaehollandiae Steampunkticus), aka Kevin and Kelvin, are plugged into the beautiful expansive landscape of the Kanamaluka/Tamar River in Pilawuytakinta/Low Head. Not as big as the big penguin in Penguin you might say, but these chunky bois are grand low-poly, 3D, cyber-Brutalist sculptures by Gravelly Beach artist Michael Gethin.
They are located up the hill from the wonderful Low Head Pilot Station Museum and down the hill from the lighthouse, and you can hear the Type-G diaphone (foghorn) roar like a thousand elephants if it is Sunday.
