Welcome to Brisbane’s most authentic Irish Pub, Irish Murphy’s.
Located on one of the oldest hotel sites in Brisbane, it is generally believed that the first hotel built on the site was the Dunmore Arms, in 1865. In 1888, it was redesigned and renamed as The Treasury Hotel and used to serve the new government treasury building across the street. On 29 October 1999, it was opened as the beloved Irish Murphy’s that we know and love today.
Murphy’s is Brisbane’s true home of live music, with local musicians taking stage seven days a week. Join in for an ice cold Guinness, on tap, and enjoy more traditional recipes than you can throw a shoe at. Tell tall tales in the public bar, have a craic in the gaming room, or hold your next function in the beautifully renovated top level ‘Trove’.
The idea of a true Irish Pub is to feel a level of familiarity, comfort and welcoming in any part of the world you may travel, so walk through the doors, grab a chair, and please don’t dance on it, that’s what the dance floor is for.
You can find them in the heart of the Brisbane CBD on the corner of George Street and Elizabeth Street.
