Barron Falls is a highlight when visiting Cairns, travellers who decided to visit the town of Kuranda can see the falls via several means. One of the most popular ways to get to Kuranda is to catch the Kuranda Scenic Railway train journey which departs Cairns three times a day. The train started operation with its first journey with passengers on June 15th, 1891. It winds its way from Carins through the beautiful rainforest on a 33-kilometre trip, stopping at Barron Station. Here passengers can disembark and take in the sights of the mighty Barron Falls. After rain fall the falls can be a tornado of water making is way down the river.

The Kuranda SKYRAIL takes passengers on their Gondolas over the Barron stopping along the route so that passengers can take the short board walk stroll to see the falls from the other side of the Gorge giving an equally impressive and different perspective of the falls.
Travellers who decided to drive up to Kuranda can take the magical rainforest walk which is suspended up high through the trees and makes its way to the railway platform.
