If you want to find this legendary restaurant, just look for the queues of hungry punters lining up outside the door on a daily basis (contrary to the name, you can eat in). But don’t be dissuaded – things move pretty fast, and the laksa that awaits inside is worth any wait. The menu for this famous Malay noodle soup has not changed since the eatery opened in 1987. And it’s unlike any other version you’ll ever taste.
There are close to a dozen varieties to choose from, whether you want your main protein to be seafood, king prawns, beef, chicken or tofu. Sitting atop unctuous vermicelli noodles, it’s all bathed in a rich coconut sauce and then topped with bean sprouts for crunch. Be warned: it’s highly addictive.
This is, of course, the main draw. But if you’re looking for something extra on the side there are also fried noodles and rice to add to your meal.
