McQuade Park was planned by Lachlan Macquarie in 1810 as the abundant square that was to stand in front of St Matthews Church, Windsor.

Today, it is a spacious and picturesque park in historic Windsor, featuring a large sports field, a heritage rotunda, public toilets, and picnic shelters. A scenic pond at one end of the park adds to its charm and is a popular backdrop for wedding photos or a peaceful spot to watch the local ducks. It’s an ideal place for a relaxing stroll.

For those interested in early European history you will also find a large statue of Governor Macquarie. The statue is located directly opposite one of the great early churches and cemeteries in the Hawkesbury, New South Wales – St Matthews Church. The park has ample car parking available.
