Nestled in the heart of the Hunter Valley, Mira Wines is a boutique, family-owned vineyard built on passion, heritage and resilience. Founded by Ana and her late husband Kiros, the vineyard is a continuation of a lifelong dream to grow exceptional fruit and share their love of wine, food and hospitality with others.
With roots tracing back to traditional grape growing on the Greek island of Kefalonia, Mira Wines blends old-world philosophy with Hunter Valley terroir. The name “Mira” inspired by Greek mythology and the Three Fates, reflects a deep belief in destiny, craftsmanship and the shared journey of life values that are woven into every bottle.
Producing small-batch vintages of approximately 1,000 to 4,000 bottles each year, Mira Wines focuses on quality over quantity. The vineyard features Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted in the 1990s, alongside rare, 70-year-old Muscat vines affectionately known as “the old girls.” More recently, Pinot Grigio vines planted by Kiros in 2023 mark the next chapter in the vineyard’s story.
The unexpected hero of their wine list is the sought after limoncello! Made from a friend’s traditional Italian family recipe, this started as a weekend project and has now taken over as a local favourite and one of their Best Sellers!
